TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu’s relationship with expelled Samajwadi Party MP Jayaprada is an open secret. Before joining SP, Jayaprada played a very ‘prominent’ role for TDP in Delhi and especially to serve the interests of Naidu.

Her expulsion from TDP came like a shock and without any hint just the way she is now forced out of SP. Mulayam Singh Yadav expelled her for siding with Amar Singh. Now, the actress-turned-politician seems to be shifting her gaze again towards her home state AP.

Giving strong indications to this effect, she made startling revelations on Thursday saying that Naidu insulted and humiliated her when she was in TDP. She said the TDP chief treated her like a ‘use-and-throw’ in the end.

She wept inconsolably after she met with ill-treatment from Naidu and that’s what forced her to shift to the North. “Leaders are simply using up party workers and then throwing them out. This is exactly what happened to me in TDP,” she said in Delhi.

Jayaprada is also ready to return to state “if the people here are willing to accept her and elect her.”

Old-timers and those close to the TDP inner circles would not dispute Jayaprada’s ‘use-and-throw’ remark which they see as a reflection on her own case. Jayaprada was always whispered to be Naidu’s pet. She was elevated as an MP, a move that saw Renuka Chowdary out of TDP.
