The Telangana Joint Action Committee (T-JAC) asked all the elected representatives, from ward members to MPs, to resign from their posts in view of the Centre dilly-dallying on framing terms of reference for the Srikrishna committee.
The T-JAC at an emergency meeting decided that there was no change on the issue of resignations.
“We set February 7 as deadline for resignations but postponed it since the Centre had constituted the Srikrishna committee. Despite a long wait, the Centre has not announced the terms of reference (TOR) or given clarity on Telangana,” Prof. Kodandaram, T-JAC convenor, said.
“We are not bothered if the Centre announces the terms of reference or not. The resignations should be implemented,” he added.
The T-JAC will meet hold a crucial meet on Thursday to chalk out a programme to intensify the agitation.
“The T-JAC decision will indicate if the ensuing Budget Session will be held or not,” he said.
People of Telangana are angry over the Centre’s delaying tactics over the terms of reference which is leading to agitations, he said. JACs of 10 districts of Telangana will meet in Hyderabad on February 14 to chalk out an action programme, he said.
On the occasion of Shivarathri, the T-JAC has decided to organise “Telangana jagaran.”
