TDP MLA and producer of Adurs Kodali Nani roared like a lion with his strong pro-Andhra posture on Sunday. It was a real shock and surprise, coming from a man who till, a few weeks ago, whimpered like a diffident cat! What made this beleaguered creature believe his beastly strengths overnight? And who was the guiding force that brought about this amazing transformation?
Kodali Nani, as one of the producers of Jr NTR-starrer Adurs and also as a pro-samaikhyandhra TDP legislator, had faced rough weather during and after the release of his film. KCR’s daughter Kavitha called for a boycott of the film and even ensured some trouble for the screening at some theatres.
Adurs was hyped to beat Magadheera in gross collections and the Telangana resistance was threatening to strike its ambitions at its very roots. A desperate Nani then had to knock at the doors of the High Court to save his film and his money.
It’s close to a month now since the storm was over and Nani, as the producer, apparently got his money back, even though the film has miles to go to beat Magadheera. Now that the producer is at ease, it wakes up the politician in Nani. He is out to play a vicious game that is master-minded and remote-controlled from the NTR Trust Bhavan in Hyderabad.
The way Nani ridiculed, dared and mischievously toyed with the Telangana forces, smacks of a strong political flavour and a deep-rooted strategy, laid out by TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu to foment further trouble. If it is not for political reasons, why would a producer invite trouble for his own film within a month of its release?
The idea is clear; Naidu plans the strategy and Nani follows it like a diligent servant. The game plan is also simple here; create a ‘padmavyuham’ of problems for the Rosaiah government!
But how would Naidu benefit using Nani here? Provoked by Nani’s outbursts, the Telangana forces would once again resort to vandalism at theatres screening Adurs. This spark is enough to create a fresh law and order problem and catch the government on the wrong foot.
In response to Nani’s earlier petition, DGP Girish Kumar had already assured the High Court of full security to the theatres. Now, Nani can go back to court crying foul about the police failure. Then, the court will pass stringent strictures to the police machinery and the state government for their inefficiency.
This is exactly what a wily politician like Naidu has been hoping and planning for. Naidu’s political finesse lies in his perfect timing. If it was not for this timing, why would the TDP men suddenly go all out against YSR’s close buddy and now Rosaiah confidante KVP Ramachandra Rao?
