Priya Anand, even as you see her in the promos, makes just the cut for the young politico’s love interest in Leader. She’s got an honest intellectual face with a dash of wit, that suits the character of a girl who understands the political ambitions of her partner, much like Rana Daggubati who looks like he quite sunk into the CM character. Points to Shekar Kammula for choosing an excellent cast, from among newcomers nonetheless!

 Priya Anand did a couple of movies in Tamil which were well received but she didn’t jump into the first Telugu movie offer she received. Her wait definitely proved worthy, because she landed right in Shekar Kammula’s movie that piqued interest of everybody in Andhra. Considering the current turmoil in the state, this looks like just the film that we’d like to watch. But, is that why the release is getting delayed, lest the political statements in the movie trigger some violent reactions from activists? We’ll have to wait this one out.
