Joining the bandwagon of starlets remaking movies of star-fathers and star-grandfathers, Jr NTR signed up to do afresh NTR’s greatest mythological showpiece Dana Veera Sura Karna.

For every Telugu movie buff this film will still be fresh in memory as NTR in an unparalleled performance, played three contrasting mythological roles with aplomb. DVSK is arguably one of the all-time grossers in the history of Telugu cinema.

It is no surprise that Jr NTR gave his nod immediately after V V Vinayak made the proposal. But what exactly the approach that V V Vinayak is going to take is still under wraps. Is he going to contemporise the plot and make something like Mani Ratnam’s Dalapathi, a film also based on Karna’s character, or is he going to try a non-super-dramatic style to churn out an epic-based love story like Jodha Akbar? We just have to wait and see.
