Ahead of the two-match Test series against Bangladesh, Indian skipper Mahendra Singh M S Dhoni said that it was important for him and his team to perform consistently well and not to worry over the team ranking.
India ascended to the No.1 spot in Tests in December last year and the ‘men in blue’ now have the burden of having to stay at the top. It is going to be a daunting task since India will play only four Tests in the next eleven months. But Dhoni is not worried.
Talking about the recent loss to Sri Lanka in the Bangla ODI tri-series final, he said there were some positives to look forward to, like improvement in the bowling attack.
Bangladesh are no pushovers despite a dismal Test record. At the same time, Indians should not be complacent. And with the experienced seniors returning to the squad, India in all likelihood, should have it easy in their bid to cling on to the top spot. |
